Reason behind the establishment of helpers social development foundation. Starting the 20th century upwards to this day, genius attempts were made by men of good will to assent in the alleviation of suffering of fellow human beings across the continents of the world. This were nongovernmental organisation funded respectively by them to use them as instrumentality legacy to help the poor, underprivileged unfortunate citizens of the world to enhance their well being by offering education, health support and providing for training to acquire needed skills when put out to use would enable those beneficiaries enhance their economic well being.
Extra ordinary men and quintessential entrepreneurs they were who lived during the course of the 20th century: John D. Rockefeller, first world billionaire, Carnegie who owned the largest steel company in the USA and Henry Ford who founded the first automobile manufacturing company in the USA ranks the greatest .
For these men at the different periods of world history, had founded NGOs (Rocketeller foundation, Carnegie foundation and Ford foundation) of which these organizations were made by them to impact upon numerous peoples in the USA in their chosen area of endeavor. Several billions of dollars of funds were given out in furtherance of acts of magnanimity, they had intended.
Bill and Melinda Gates foundation have doled out several billions of dollars to fund health care delivery for African countries which are impoverished. And NGO operations here in Nigeria have more than Four (4) decades of history. But mostly the NGOs operationally speaking have been hampered by inadequate funding.
However, Helpers Social Development Foundation (HSDF) was conceived, a brain child of Mr. Okeke Chidi Chinwendu and Mrs. Okeke Amarachi Sophia with helping motive at heart. The objective that has informed its establishment is to say the least noble as it laudable. HSDF is a charitable and nonprofit making organization.
The founding chairman Mr. Okeke Chidi Chinwendu and Mrs. Okeke Amarachi Sophia vision for a better status for the children, youths and women, spurred them into establishing an NGO that will offer basically education, good health care delivery and economic empowerment for the less privilege children, youths, and women who are unemployed or lack social amenities in the society by giving them vocational education, health care services , economic empowerment programmes to enhance their knowledge and skills that will make them valuable and progressive in the society. education support for the youths and also to aid them in acquiring needed skills to survive in absence of paid employment which are scare to get by.
The foundation will also be use to inspire children to have value to others for better society. Lack of value to others is the major problem affecting Africa society today, which can be solve if we pass the right message to children, they will grow with it and transform our society for better.
