Young peoples forum: Child personal growth and development. On Wed 15 July 2020. Medical and Missions Archdeaconry, Awgu Aninri Diocese of Anglican Church hosted a program. Program venue: Church of Divine Compassion Ituku Ozalla Enugu State.
Helpers Social Development Foundation (HSDF) was invited to present our organization program to young people. The event was captioned: YOUNG PEOPLE FORUM.
Theme:
1. Strategy to prevent sexual abuse for young people.
2. Young people personal development and growth.
Our organization honours the invitation because young people are our must valuable resource. We need to guide them well which will become useful member of the society . During this Covid-19 pandemic, covid-19 have affected their education and their wellbeing which affected physical, mental and emotionally as young people. It’s our collective responsibility to protect and educate young people to guarantee a safer world.
- EMMANUEL ONYEKWELU during his speech; he spoke, clearly about the procedures, steps or processes needed for Young people to grow, develop themselves and become a useful member in the society.
Emmanuel disclosed: “You have grown or developed to a point to which you can possibly get what you want in life without violating the rights of others and as well adding meaning contribution to the society.” He further explained, with biblical illustrations, the five
(5) basic steps for young people to grow as followed:
“1. Have a vision: WHO do you want to be in the next 5, 10, 20 years’ time? Once you have answered that question, then you have defined your existence.
2. Stay hungry: Staying hungry doesn’t necessarily mean to starve yourself of the basic necessities of life: Food to start with, but to desire something very bad enough! And then write the vision down; the appointed time, read it every day until it is committed to memory. The exercise would help you stay hungry until the vision is actualized!
3. Discover friends: don’t make friends (first).
Young people should discover people’s of like minds before making them their Friends. Because everybody must not be their Friends. ‘Those who walk with the wise become wise but the companions of fools will be destroyed’. ~Proverb13:20.
- Grinding:Working really hard is the most important aspect of getting your vision accomplished. And if you refused to grind while you’re young, then you will completely bring disappointment and misery to your weak, Older person in the next few years of your life. As a young person. no matter the area you find yourself; most especially in education; no pain no gain. You have to study hard, expand your mind with words and then commit to continuous learning and improvement.
5. Give back to the Society:
‘The generous person will prosper, and those who refreshes others would be refreshed’! ~Proverb 11:25
And the More you give to the society; energy, time, and money; you will not only be HAPPY, but MORE OPPORTUNITIES would be opened to you to get more of what you want in life.”
After Emmanuel’s speech: young people, lecturers, parents, most importantly, priests and a PROFESSOR present in the event were marveled at the Helpers Social Development Foundation’s resource person teaching prowess.
And then their reactions were very encouraging; indeed, the event ended in Praise!!!
The entire people thanked the enormous humanitarian effort of Helpers Social Development Foundation for making the event a lively one.
