HSDF organized child abuse prevention programme on 15/12/2019. Program venue: Capuchin Catholic Church Hall.
The aim of child abuse programme was to educate children about sexual abuse prevention. The programme was organized by HSDF team and sponsored by priests of the Capuchin Catholic Church, GRA Enugu.
Okeke Amarachi educated the children on child sexual abuse. According to Amarachi, she said 95% of child abusers were themselves abused as children. 80% of substance abusers were abused as children. 100% of child abuse is preventable using earlier education. She also stated the importance of reporting any sexual abuse attempt to their parent or guardians. She taught the children the signs an abuser may come with, and what they should do when the abuser comes to them.

Parents and guardians of the children were there to witness the programme. Parents and guardians were also educated on how to protect their children and wards against abusers. The parents and guardians were happy with the movement of HSDF to prevent sexual child abuse. The children showed gratitude for being educated on how to stop abusers and say No to them. The parish priest encouraged HSDF team to do more exploit.
The priest, Rev. Fr. Michael was impressed with what HSDF taught the children. He promised to invite the organization to educate children on another day.
