HSDF visited Community Nursery, Primary and Secondary School, Olo in Ezeagu Local Government Area Enugu State Nigeria on 03/09/2019 . The aim of the visit was to educate the students on the importance of education in their lives and also encourage learning.

Mrs. Okeke Amarachi Sophia spoke on the mission and vision of HSDF towards children education. She told the students to be a focus on their studies and pay adequate attention to teachers while learning in order to be a success academically.

She advised the student to avoid any form of distraction in their education; such as cultism, teenage pregnancy, stealing, examination malpractice or any illicit act that may jeopardize their education and endanger their future. This is because being educated will help them know their right and contribute well to society.

Mr. Emmanuel Onyekwelu who is an indigene of Olo Community and a volunteer of HSDF shared to the pupils/student what he had achieved being educated. He advised them to obey and listen to their teachers and maximize the opportunity they have now to acquire education. HSDF distributed items to the students to encourage learning and motivate them towards education.

The items distributed are: Exercise books, packets of Pen, packets of Pencil, and school Sandals. The headteacher Mrs. EzehOnyinye was excited for HSFG gift donation to her school. She said that this is the first time they are having such a visit in their school, where students are motivated and gift items given to them to encourage education. The students rejoiced after receiving some of the gift items shared to them by HSDF team.

According to the headteacher, Mrs. Ezeh highlighted the challenges students face in the school. She said that some parent could not pay all the government levies for students in the school. Some students don’t have reading and writing materials due to hardship face by their parents. This made some willing students drop out of school.

According to Okeke Amarachi Sophia, she promised that the HSDF management committee will look into their challenges and get back to them in due course.  The programme ended at about 10:15Am.
